
so i did some research about the Portuguese root of our last name, and found out some interesting things. It means "pear tree" and was most likely of Sephardic Jewish decent. The husband's family were catholic, so their ancestors likely converted when the Inquisition and the Holocaust came rolling through. . .
So for xmas I did this crest for my in-laws, now i just need to get it framed!

I'm 100% sure Dad was floored by this. I'm still surprised and intrigued by the history of the name. And he thought we were named after potatoes...
